A new bunch of Apprentices join the Prestige Homeseeker Team

We are pleased to welcome seven new Apprentices to the Prestige Homeseeker Park & Leisure Homes team this week. The new apprentices will join our existing apprentices and will train in key construction skills with the support of skilled mentors. This year we have expanded the scheme to welcome a Business Administration apprentice to support our production team. We wish them all well as they begin their careers with Prestige Homeseeker Park & Leisure Homes!

Three Times the Challenge

Three Times the Challenge

Three Men, Three Days, 93 miles across the River Nene

On the 31st of August a three man team will set off on a 93 mile trip down the navigational stretch of The River Nene from Northampton to The Wash on the East Coast, in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support. Included in this team, is Prestige Homeseeker staff member, Ryan Guilar.

This challenge was set after long discussions and has never been done before. However, three men have completed 66 miles in three days in a three man kayak.
So Ryan and his team decided to raise the bar and complete the whole navigational length of 93 miles in three days in three single kayaks.

Please check out the team’s Facebook & JustGiving pages, and like and share to keep up to date on the challenge.

Any donations would be greatly received in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.

Prestige Homeseeker launched their apprenticeship scheme in 2017 and now have eleven young people who have successfully completed their training with Tresham College with five of them planning to continue their next level of training at the Corby Tresham Campus to specialise in electrics and plumbing. The College were able to offer a specially tailored and designed two-year Maintenance Operations course which provide all-round skills in plumbing, painting and decorating, electrical work, carpentry and joinery.

The course proved to be so successful that it was shortlisted in the Made In Central and East England Manufacturing Awards, along with two of the apprentices, Loren Cooper and Will Vanner, being awarded with the Construction Apprentice of the year award at the Tresham College Achievements Ceremony.

Marketing Manager Returns as Iron Woman

Marketing Manager Returns as Iron Woman

Prestige Homeseeker have their very own Iron Woman among them.

Marketing Manager and Fitness Addict, Sam Baylis, completed her first IronMan in Vitoria, Spain earlier this month. This was no easy task and entailed 2.4 miles of swimming, followed by a 112-mile cycle and then a 26.2-mile full marathon! Months of training and stress led up to the moment and days before her race Sam was thinking ‘what the hell am I doing?!’. However, when the doubts set in, her support network of family, friends and colleagues threw them aside and all knew she would be able to do it. The race began early morning and just over 14 hours later, Sam crossed the finish line with the biggest smile on her face – what an achievement! Prestige Homeseeker are so impressed, proud and amazed by Sam and she is already gearing up for the next one, but for now we think she deserves a well-earnt rest.

Congratulations Sam, you are officially an Iron Woman!

Bright Horizons at Prestige Homeseeker… Apprenticeship Evening 2019

Prestige Homeseeker recently invited prospective apprentices to their factory and showground for an open evening in Rushden in order to show them around their facilities. It was an informative evening for all involved, and included an introduction to the staff here at Prestige Homeseeker, including the team leaders who will be mentoring the apprentices throughout their time in the programme.

The guests were provided with refreshments as they embarked on a factory tour to show them exactly where they will be working (although it was quiet in comparison to the usual working day!). A showground tour followed to allow the guests to view the finished product; something they could be proud of if they join the team at Prestige Homeseeker.

Production Director, Stephen Arnett, said; ‘We were delighted with the engagement of the young people and their parents as they toured the facilities to see what we can offer. I think the whole evening was a resounding success and would like to thank all the team for their hard work and giving up their evening to help. I’m already looking forward to the assessment days next week and meeting our next batch of potential apprentices.’ Prestige Homeseeker will also be running two assessment days for the candidates which includes team building exercises and other tasks in order for the company to get a feel for those who they wish to invite to work for them.

The current apprentices are coming to the end of their two year course with Prestige Homeseeker, we celebrate their success and dedication and wish them all the best for the future. A few are staying on with Prestige Homeseeker, and some are carrying on with further apprenticeships with us.
